Chennai Book Fair 2026

A Journey from Gummidipoondi to YMCA Grounds

🚇 My Journey

My journey started early morning from Gummidipoondi. The station was calm, and the excitement of visiting the Chennai Book Fair made the ride feel shorter.

I took a suburban train towards Chennai and then switched to the metro at Wimco Nagar. The metro ride was smooth, fast, and surprisingly comfortable compared to road travel.

Finally, I reached Nandanam station and used Google Maps to walk toward YMCA Grounds. The streets were lively, full of students and book lovers heading in the same direction.

📖 Book Experience

The book fair was massive — rows of stalls filled with thousands of books from different genres. It felt like a paradise for readers and learners.

I spent a lot of time exploring self-improvement and motivational books. One book that really caught my attention was Atomic Habits.

The atmosphere was peaceful yet energetic, with people flipping pages, discussing books, and discovering new authors.

🍛 Food Experience

After hours of walking through the book stalls, I was completely tired and hungry. Luckily, there were food stalls offering traditional meals.

I enjoyed a full South Indian marriage-style lunch served on a banana leaf. The taste of sambar, rasam, poriyal, and curd rice felt unforgettable.

That meal was the perfect ending to my day — simple, satisfying, and deeply traditional.
